Step #1 - Follow the registration instructions here 

Step #2 - Complete AYSO's Safe Haven Training on AYSOU , the AYSO online education portal (1 hour)
Login and take the course. One-time, not each year.

AYSOU features an online learning catalog filled with courses needed to become AYSO certified in disciplines ranging from coach education to referee training to management instruction. Here you will be able to access your online learning materials at your own pace, instantly obtain certification and revisit course content at any time. Some courses also include a supplemental eBook for which there is a nominal fee.

Step #3 - Complete CDC: Concussion Course on AYSOU  (30 minutes)
Login and take the course. One-time, not each year.

Step #4 - Complete Online Coaching Training for 6U, 8U, 10U, or 14U (Intermediate) on AYSOU  (2 hours)
Login and take the course. Take the appropriace course for your child's division.

Step #5 - Optional during CoVid -  Complete Live Coaching Training for 6U, 8U, 10U, or 14U (Intermediate) on AYSOU  (4-8 hours)
Login and register for the live training locally. Attend the live training for your child's division. 7U attends 8U. It's only a few hours but it will equip you to deal with children and teach them soccer consistent with their age. At the soccer coaching course, you are provided a brand new Coaching Manual that provides you with training plans and activities for the age you are coaching.  At the coaches meeting (before the season), you are provided with equipment and a coaches shirt if you are certified, and a roster of players/parents to contact as you start the season.

Step #6 - Get authorized/assigned
We manage a lot of volunteers. Don't be shy. Reach out to us via email or phone. our application to coach may be rejected for any reason by the Regional Board, and is subject to renewal or rejection each season. You are not a coach each year until you are authorized by the Regional Board, even if you have applied and taken the requisite training. Your prior actions as a parent and/or coach may be taken into account as part of the authorization or renewal process at the sole discretion of the Regional Board. Coaching is a privilege and not a right.
